Role Summary/Purpose:

Material & Logistics Specialist is responsible for Materials and logistics operations management ,transportation optimization and program implementation, 

Ensure an uninterrupted supply of materials to support production and sales. Work to resolve Materials issues while achieving and maintaining inventory business metrics.

Essential Responsibilities:

- Overall ownership of material ordering and availability, including the logistics, transportation, brokerage and any warehousing management into and out of the plant adhering to the contract terms.

- Oracle and ERP expert, includes all material and logistics related transactions.

- Expedite part shortages in consideration of cost and transit time.

- Daily Shortage root cause investigation and resolution

- Communication with suppliers - packaging, min/max planning. ECRs, as they relate to old/existing parts

- Conduct daily walks on the floor and the receiving dock to investigate and resolve material issues

- Support material aspects of transfers, which includes Integrated Supplier Program

- Field Modification Instruction, as appropriate - ordering material, formulating schedules

- Supplier visits, as needed - internal and external

- Manage Phase In / Phase Out (NPI) to minimize obsolete material

- Ensure internal and end customer needs are fulfilled with the highest quality and cost efficient method, in compliance to company policy, international trade and regulations

- Able to strategy and influence senior management to achieve the deliverables

- Responsible to review the logistics spend and work on initiatives to improve the cost performance

- Responsible for all materials and logistics related SCOT, includes preventive and corrective planning and implementation

- Maintaining and developing relationships with current, new and potential service providers

- Keep abreast of market developments, best practices and drive transportation and logistics productivity projects, initiatives and programs meeting the annual Variable Cost Productivity (VCP) target

Qualifications/Requirements:

1. Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or Engineering

2. 3~5 years of experience working in Materials, logistics, international trade compliance, warehousing and distribution, supply chain management, financial analysis and project management, with 5 years in a management/leadership position. Similar Healthcare and Medical Device industry preferred.

3. Proven business/ financial acumen, including demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, motivate, influence, solve complex problems, and drive change at all levels of organization.

4. Working knowledge of Oracle ERP and Transport Management System

5. Willing to travel domestically
